Teachers should be UK qualified or equivalent, and able to embody the school’s core values at all times, whilst those applying for non-teaching positions should hold local qualifications applicable to their aspirant role.

When considering a role at ICS I would ask you to look carefully at our School Mission and Vision and our shared values: They aren’t just words on a website; we live them and expect all our staff to embody and role model these values every day. You should be optimistic, open-minded and collaborative, and always reflective of your own practice and how you can look to continuously develop as a colleague and professional at ICS.

An Overview of ICS Amman

Founded in 1953 as a Primary School for fewer than 40 students, the school has a rich history. In 1953 we opened our doors in a building at Marka Airport with Prince Hassan bin Talal, one of our first students. As numbers grew we moved in 1980 to Wasfi Al Tal Street in Khalda where a growing expatriate community was developing in the capital.

The school continued to grow, enjoying a royal visit from Queen Elizabeth II in 1983 and in 1989 we opened our first Secondary classes. By 1997 we were celebrating our first GCSE successes as we continued towards 300 students. In the early 2000s, as student numbers grew, the search was on for a new school site and in 2009 Prince Hassan bin Talal proudly opened our new campus site in Naour, the site we occupy today.

With a new campus and the ability to expand, the school has enjoyed a period of sustained growth with our current student roll at over 700 students.

We are a not-for-profit, private, parent-governed school. Our Royal patrons are HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal and HRH Princess Sarvath El Hassan. Our income comes from school fees and is entirely invested in the school's operational running and our campus's ongoing capital development. Our nine Parent Governors are elected every two years to support the school vision and our community of over 60 nationalities united by our shared school values.
